Westfield – Barbara E. (Gonet) Oleksak, 83, (1933-2017) passed away on May 24, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield to the late Walter and Stella (Kryla) Gonet. Barbara worked for the Westfield Public Schools for 30 years, retiring as the Cafeteria Manager at Juniper School. She was a member of the Westfield Riding Club. Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph P. Oleksak in 2006 and she is survived by her three loving children, sons; David J. Oleksak and his wife Patti, Thomas P. Oleksak and daughter, Theresa M. Brill and her husband John of Westfield, her brother Neal Gonet of Chicopee and 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Barbara will be held on Wednesday at 9AM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery 203 Southampton Rd. Westfield, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
