WESTHAMPTON – Patricia C. Parker (Mema) was born to Emigle “Pete” and Gladys Coté on November 27th, 1931, in Groveton NH. She loved laughing and dancing until the very end, and with her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and empathy. This empathy towards others, especially the downtrodden, is indicative of the indefatigable love and compassion she felt towards others, especially her family.
Mema, who never knew a stranger, could always be counted on to provide aid assistance to others. She never turned away anyone in need of help, and she modeled her life through Christ’s words found in Matthew 25: 35-40. Without judgement, she fed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty, clothed the naked, and sheltered the homeless. She didn’t limit her kindness to people, as she was responsible in providing care for many years to the area’s homeless cat population. Mema was always positive and loving, and she would give greatly of herself and not allow anyone to suffer. She was an eternal optimist and a woman of good works who would always light a candle instead of cursing the darkness.
To her eternal sadness, she is predeceased by five of her six children: Linda, Milo, Stephen, Sharon, Brian, as well as her grandsons, Israel and Julian, and granddaughter, Heather. Mema is survived by her son Ricky (Judy) of Westhampton, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.
Per her wishes, there will be no public service. In her memory, please dance, laugh, and be kind to one another.
