Nightclub videos played in Hernandez trial

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — Surveillance video from a Boston nightclub played Friday in the murder trial of Aaron Hernandez shows the former New England Patriots player out with the victim two nights before the killing.
Hernandez and Odin Lloyd were at Rumor nightclub days before Lloyd was shot to death June 17, 2013. Hernandez, 25, is accused of killing Lloyd, 27, who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee.
Prosecutors have said Hernandez got angry that night, but there has so far been no testimony about that. A valet at a nearby hotel where Hernandez parked that night testified this week that he saw Hernandez with a gun tucked into his waistband.
The video clips played Friday show Hernandez, Lloyd and Hernandez’s barber, Roberto Olivares, arriving at the club at around 12:50 a.m. on June 15. It shows Hernandez, Lloyd and Olivares being patted down at the door. The club’s head VIP host, Jeffrey London, said he let the three cut the line and go inside without paying the $25 entrance fee.
Video from inside the club shows Hernandez drinking alone at the bar. London said he saw Hernandez alone and bought him a Hennessy drink. He said he doesn’t remember Hernandez saying anything to him.
“Did he say thank you?” prosecutor William McCauley asked.
“Not that I recall. No,” London replied.
London said he later saw Hernandez, again standing alone, by the exit, and a clubgoer testified he also saw Hernandez alone, this time by the disc jockey booth.
Lloyd’s good friend Akil Joseph was also at the club that night with several of Lloyd’s close friends and testified that he saw Lloyd. A photo taken by the clubgoer showed the back of Hernandez’s head directly behind Joseph and across from two other Lloyd friends.
Joseph testified that he did not recognize Hernandez at the time and did not speak with him.
The trial resumes Tuesday.
