WESTFIELD: Bruce L. Cowles, 73, passed away at home on April 26, 2015. He 
was born in Westfield to the late Harold and Eugena (Benoit) Cowles and was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary’s School in Westfield. Bruce was employed as a stockroom foreman for HB Smith for 20 years. He served his country with the United States Marine Corp from 1959-1963 and attained the rank of Corporal. He was a past President and Life member of the Eagles, past member of the Westfield Elks Lodge, a member of the American Legion Post 124, AMVETS and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy A. (Stowers) Cowles, his son, William Kelly and wife Diana of Southwick, his daughters, Julie A. Morin and her husband, Arthur of Westfield and Sheila Kelly with Roger Pickford of Huntington, his brother, Leslie H. Cowles of Westfield, his sister Louise E. Pierce of Southwick, 7 grandchildren, Brianna Kelly, Arthur Granger and his wife Danielle, William Granger and his wife Tara, Joseph Granger with Kayla Froebel, Ryan Kelly and Jason Kelly, 5 great grandchildren, Kaila, Aidan, Arianna, Finnegan, and Abigail, his niece, Lynn Ann Walter and nephews and godsons, Theodore Pierce and James Cowles.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA followed by burial in Russell Cemetery, Huntington Rd. Russell. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers Bruce’s family has requested donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 264 Cottage St. Springfield, MA 01104. www.firtionadams.com
