A recent On the Street featured one question you could ask the mayor. Here are his answers:
Do I have a dog? Yes, a golden retriever.
When are the potholes going to be filled? The city and its contractor have been filling pot holes since the first asphalt plant opened weeks ago. The work to fill the holes will continue until they are all done.
Are they still on track to build the new school? Construction on the Ashley/Cross street school is planned to begin this fall.
When are they going to fix and pave Papermill Road? Work should begin this spring on the road.
What’s the next phase in developing the downtown area? 1. Continued work for two more years on the Gas Light District. 2. Planning for the construction of the central section of the Greenway for potential start in 2017. Start of construction on the River Levee Walk this year between Elm Street and Whitney Playground, construction of the last phase of the Greenway southern section this year and construction start for 2016 to cross the Westfield River with the Greenway. Redevelopment of the Elm/Arnold area is ongoing, likely this year demolition of two of the last three remaining buildings will occur. Spring 2016 planned start of construction of the PVTA facility. Spring 2017 redevelopment of the rest of the site could begin.
What are my plans after my term ends? Stay tuned…
