WESTFIELD: Robert Lajoie, 81, died Thursday, July 11, 2015. He was born in Holyoke on May 10, 1934 to the late Laurent and Grace (Bissell) Lajoie. He grew up in Holyoke and attended local schools. He was a driver for Wonder Bread before attaining his Master Electricians License working for Hansen Electric. Bob also worked for Old Colony Envelope Co. in Westfield and then worked for Rexam Graphics in South Hadley, retiring in 1999. He was active in the Boy Scouts serving as a scout leader and on the Eagle Board and was proud to work with his son and grandson on their Eagle Badge. He was a member of the Westfield Sportsman’s Club and served as a range officer. Bob enjoyed woodworking, photography, boating, camping, fishing, target shooting and hunting. He also raised beagles and Brittanys for hunting. He leaves his wife of 27 years Karen L. (Tapply) Lajoie, his children Lisa M. Crean and her husband Chris of Westfield, Todd A. Lajoie and his wife Amy of Feeding Hills, Leanne Lajoie and her husband Noah King of Santa Rosa, CA., Lois DeGray of Ludlow and Robert Lajoie of E. Longmeadow and their families. Bob also leaves his grandchildren C.J., Joey, Bobby and Cailyn Crean, Conner and Trysten Lajoie and Kelly King, several nieces and nephews and his loyal dog Abby, and Warren and Ann Tapply (in-laws), Donna, Steven and Susan Tapply. He was pre-deceased by his brother Lawrence Lajoie II. The funeral for Bob will be held on Wednesday June 17th at 11 am at the First Congregational Church, 18 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
