Southwick—Louise Flora (Defoe) Johnson, 85, (1930-2015) passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 19, 2015. She was born in New London, CT, the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Malloy) Defoe. Louise moved to Southwick more than 25 years ago and quickly fell in love with the town. She was pleased to call it her home and spent many happy years with her husband, Kenneth, enjoying its beauty. She was a master homemaker who was an excellent cook and loved to go to auctions and flip homes. She will be remembered for her humanitarian work, her sense of humor and her youthful, sweet spirit. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Norman Papineau Jr. and her sister, Rosemary Pepper. She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Johnson of Southwick; son, Jerald Papineau and his wife, Veronica of North Adams; daughters, June Vincent of West Point, GA, Susan Papineau and her husband, Gerald Moody of Cumming, GA, Debra Blackwell and her husband, Jeffrey of Great Barrington, MA, Bertha Connelley of Lee, MA, Margaret Candee of Lee, MA and Francine Provost of Venice, FL; step-sons, Michael Johnson and his wife, Elizabeth of Newport, VT and Robert Johnson and his wife, Diane of Southwick; step-daughters, Donna Kelley of Belchertown, MA and Patricia Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Victor Defoe Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; and sisters, Jacqueline Graveline and Mary Laviolette , both of Palmer.
