Southwick—Lionel T. Fry Jr., 77, (1938 – 2015) passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 26, 2015. He was born in Pleasantville, NJ, the son of the late Lionel T. Sr. and Claire (Mink) Fry. He received his Associates Degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years as a technical engineer. After his time in the military, Lionel worked in the Bulk Mail Center in Springfield for 15 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church and a member of the American Legion, Agawam. He was active in the Southwick Senior Center and enjoyed many activities including woodworking, traveling, camping and gardening. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Fry Godfrey and his sister-in-law, Jean Fry. Lionel is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rachel Fry of Southwick; his daughters, Jennifer Fry of Florida, Elizabeth Scott and her husband, Anthony of Tennessee, and Margaret Fry of South Dakota; his grandchildren, Jackson Scott and Madeleine Fry; his brother, Robert Fry; his sister, Jane Carlson; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Lionel will be held on Thursday, December 31st from 1-3PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2nd beginning at the funeral home at 9:45AM followed by a Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 224 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick at 11AM.
