I’m disgusted with the coverage of Westfield High School and in particular the boys basketball team. They lost to Amherst in a regular season game and the article was posted in a HUGE font as though it was a important playoff game and half the city was there. The Amherst players were highlighted and the whole thing was poorly done. Actually there were a small handful of Westfield residents there cheering on their kids. If you are going to cover a bad loss for the home team, the least you can do is make some comment about how the boys tried to play a tough defense. I have found that the coverage of Westfield High events is particularly skim except when there is trouble at the school. I sure hope you will have a reporter covering the amazing science fair next month highlighting the many hardworking, talented, college bound students that attend WHS every day.
