SPRINGFIELD (WWLP) – A Southwick man pleaded guilty on Friday in U.S. District Court in Springfield in connection with distributing marijuana.
According to U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, 31-year-old Connor Cipolla pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
In October 2014, Cipolla drove to his storage locker at Uncle Bob’s Storage in Agawam. Ortiz said Cipolla saw DEA agents conducting a search of another locker and thought they were searching his. He immediately drove away, eventually abandoning his car in an effort to escape from police.

Ortiz said DEA later obtained a search warrant for Cipolla’s storage locker and discovered over $1 million in cash and 118 pounds of marijuana.
U.S. District Court Judge Mark Mastroianni scheduled sentencing for May 26. Cipolla faces 20 years in prison, six years of supervised release and a $2 million fine.
