why is the westfield gas and electric standing in the way of citizens cashing in on the free solar panels that are being offered every day..I get 3 to 4 calls a day offering free solar panels and when you say westfield gas and electric they all say that the offer is not good in westfield …WHY WHY IS THIS SO ..will the electric company answer this question? The Westfield News reached out to the Westfield Gas & Electric Department and here is their response: There are solar installations in Westfield. Westfield Gas and Electric is a municipally-owned utility and Massachusetts state laws forbids other private entities from selling power within a service territory that belongs to a municipal utility. A Westfield Gas and Electric customer can install and own solar panels, but they must own the system and cannot lease it from a solar vendor or pay a fee to a solar vendor for the power the solar array produces. WG+E can work with a customer and a solar vendor to ensure state laws are honored with the creation of a power purchase agreement in which the WG+E will pay the solar vendor for the power the homeowner’s solar array produces and, in turn, sell that same power directly back to the customer at that rate. The customer and solar vendor still need to execute additional agreements to cover issues such as installation, maintenance and warranty of the panels. You may find FAQ’s and other information on solar power within Westfield on our website (wgeld.org) under the Energy Efficiency heading.

Does Bob Plasse have any class????!!!. The answer is NO. We were watching the Kiwanis Auction Sunday and this guy did not know how to keep his mouth shut. He was constantly interrupting and taking items from the other presenter hands- Kathy and Father Joe at the display table.. I ‘m sure he thought he was entertaining; but in my opinion, HE WAS RUDE! There were a couple of times he even put some items near his mouth/lips. He acted like he was running he show.
