Carol Hoyt-Mullens

WESTFIELD- Carol A. (Lahue) Hoyt-Mullens, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Wingate at West Springfield. She was born in St. Albans, VT June 9, 1939 daughter to the late Francis E. and Virginia E. (Meacham) Lahue. She lived in Westfield and Blandford most of her life and was educated in the Westfield School system. She attended the School of Radiology at the former Springfield Hospital, graduating in 1960. Her professional career was spent at Noble Hospital in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, where she was a Radiologic Technologist and Assistant Director of the department retiring in 2001 after nearly 35 years at the hospital in Westfield. Carol was licensed by the state of Massachusetts to practice the science of Radiology: as well as a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American Society and the Mass. Society of Radiologic Technologists. She had a great interest and love for the environment, nature, hiking, photography and backyard astronomy, as well as contributing articles to the Westfield Evening News in the “Our readers recall” section. Carol was predeceased by her 1st husband Joseph A. Hoyt in 2007 and by her 2nd husband Joseph L. Mullens in 2014, and her brother David Lahue. She is survived by her loving children, Donna J. Erickson and her husband Brent of Westfield, Susan E. Hoyt-Miller of Feeding Hills, MA, her step-children, Regina Mullens of Westfield, Jane Mullens of Loyall, Kentucky, James “Jay” Mullens of Blandford, Josephine “Jody” Mason of Blandford, and Shawn Mullens of Auburn Washington, her sisters, Sandra Kukucka and her husband Samuel of Easthampton and Jean Bargeron of Ogden Dunes, Indiana, and her four cherished grandchildren, Sarah McDonnell and her husband Jason of Plainville, CT, Jocelyn Erickson of Westfield, Katherine Miller of Southington, CT and Jillian Erickson of Westfield, and three nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held for Carol on Monday at 11 a.m. at Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085 followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield.
