Anthony Pulaski

flagWESTFIELD- Anthony Pulaski, passed away, Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on February 23, 1923 to Antoinette and Lucas Pulaski. Anthony was the last survivor of 5 siblings. He entered the U.S. Army on January 21, 1943. Following basic training, he was assigned to the 468th Battalion, serving in five major battles: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe, receiving five Bronze Stars. They would save a portion of their C-rations in a compartment in the half track. During the Battle of the Bulge, when they were snowed in and pinned down by the enemy, those accumulated C-rations became a means of survival. Tony was predeceased by the love of his life, Jane (Kaminski) Pulaski, in 2013. He is survived by his children, Phil Pulaski and wife Marianne, Steve Pulaski and wife Brenda, Christine Smith and husband Walter, grandchildren Keith Pulaski and wife Linda, Jeff and Jon Smith, great-grandchildren, Shellie Pulaski and partner Jose, Kayla Fanion, and David Pulaski and great-great-grandchild, Addison. He also leaves a devoted god-daughter Donna Salo and many nieces and nephews. Tony worked as a draftsman and during the course of his life helped numerous people design their additions and homes. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and love of family. In keeping with his wishes, a grave side service will be held on Wed., April 13, 2016 at 11 AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield.
