WESTFIELD – It was a busy weekend in Westfield as multiple events took place across the city.

The Westfield Woman’s Club hosted the first “Articulture” event which was a collaboration between Westfield on Weekends and Art Works | City Center Westfield.
The 12-hour event which ran from 10am until 10pm on Saturday showcased musicians, writings, paintings, sculptures, photography and other artistic expressions.

Over at Westfield’s South Middle School was an event billed as, “Bandtastic” and it certainly was.
The bands from five of Westfield’s schools gathered to perform individually and then as a multi-school collaboration.
Over at Whitney field, a group of volunteers worked with City of Westfield officials to install a new playscape in memory of fallen Westfield Police Officer Jose Torres.

The Westfield Spanish American Association (WSAA) initiated the concept of a new playscape to honor Off. Torres as he was a beloved member of WSAA and very involved in youth activities.
The City of Westfield was able to secure funds to enable this project to be completed.
