WESTFIELD – Norman Robert Scott, 65, died June 9, 2016, at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston, Alabama surrounded by his brothers and his Alabama friends.
Norman was born in Westfield, MA on June 27, 1950. He attended elementary and Vocational High School in Westfield.
After graduating, he worked for the City of Westfield Tree Department. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam War.
After serving in the Army, he stayed in Duluth, Georgia for a short time be be with his older brother, Bruce, later moving to Anniston, Alabama where he settled.
Norman leaves behind a sister, Roberta J. Scott-LaPlante of Westfield, his brother David B. Scott and his wife Donna of Ludlow, his brother Richard E. Scott and his wife Brenda of Westfield. Norman also leaves three nieces, Jeannine M. LaPlante-Plaster, Jennifer D. LaPlante-Cosmopoulos and Meghan K. (Scott) Rukas, a nephew, Jared M. Scott, great nieces and nephews Jordan, Carter, Zoe, Grace, Ryan , Jeremy and Phoebe.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service Saturday, July 9, at 11:00 A.M. at The UCC Second Congregational Church at 487 Western Ave, Westfield, MA. There will be a collation to follow the memorial service in the reception hall.
