RICHMOND, MAINE – On June 29, 2016 a special member of the Detka and Smith family, joined her family of angels. Kory Smith of Richmond, Maine will have her ashes spread at her favorite places in her memory. Her husband Harvey Smith, her soul mate and partner, will miss his life co-pilot greatly. Her sister Karen Detka (Sissy) and husband Bob Detka, her God daughter Adella and niece Alecia will miss their Auntie “K” so very much. When you crossed the bridge to Maine, Auntie “K” now made the rules and there were none! She was all in, whether it was motorcycles, camping, gardening at her log home, or her favorite, helping with interior design. Her son Nicholas, wife Heather, and granddaughter Leah of Winthrop, Maine can’t help but smile and laugh in their memories of Nana. Her full on laugh and free spirit lifted her family always. She was always running to the aid of family and friends, never hesitating or second guessing, just wanting to be there for all. She was someone you could count on, no matter what the need. She loved her family gatherings with her cousins and extended family. She was always the hostess, ever ready to ensure that a great time was had by all. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of her and her parents, Herb and Joan Mogul.
