WESTFIELD- Susan (Krom) Erickson, 66, (1950-2016) entered Summerland in the early morning of June 30th, 2016. A well-known, lifelong resident of Westfield, she was born to Henry and Helena (Jegelewicz) Krom on June 24, 1950. Her exploration into the world of antiquing and tag sale-ing started early and became her career. One could always find her at every tag sale, flea market and rummage sale, dressed wild and bright with more jewelry than was reasonable. It matched her eclectic, eccentric personality. Susan was an avid gardener, Ren Faire participant and, most notably, Westfield’s famous “Halloween Queen”, earning that title through her turning her entire home into a spooky museum every October 31st since the early seventies.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Chris Erickson. Her daughter Veronica and son-in-law Ilya. Her two sons Jason and Tommy Erickson. She will be sadly missed by her grandsons, Gavvy, Jacob and Nathan. She leaves her brothers-in-law, Bruce and his wife Judy Erickson of Franklin MA, Wayne and his wife Wendy Erickson of Palmer MA and John and his wife Carol Erickson of Wilbraham MA. She also leaves countless family and friends.
Visiting hours for Susan will be Tuesday 10 am to 12 noon with a funeral service at 12 noon at the Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main St. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, all in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s name can be made to the local organizations Friends of Grandmother’s Garden and Friends of Pine Hill Cemetery.
