2:01 a.m.: Motor vehicle accident and arrest, Southampton Road. Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and a 2006 Jeep Liberty. According to police report, the driver of the Jeep Liberty struck the tractor-trailer, which led to the driver of the tractor-trailer being transported to Baystate Noble with minor injuries. Police also reported that the operator of the Liberty, Jason A. Serafinski, 37, of Holyoke, was arrested on operating under the influence of liquor and reckless operation of motor vehicle.
1:14 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a walk-in report of a person whose kayak was allegedly stolen from the shoreline at Hampton Ponds. The police were unable to receive any distinguishing marks or features of the kayak and had no other information.
1:22 p.m.: Pedestrian struck, hit-and-run, Hanover Street and St. Paul Street. Police received a report of a woman who was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. The victim was transported to Baystate Noble. There was no crosswalk where the victim was crossing and the police were unable to find the vehicle matching the victim’s description.
8:40 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident, hit-and-run, arrest, Fowler Road. Police received a report of a silver pick-up truck that struck a neighbor’s mailbox and took off from the scene of the accident. Police said they found the vehicle traveling down City View Road and followed it, and police observed the vehicle leave the roadway three times. Police stopped the vehicle and the operator, Patricia A. Lajewski, 65, of Westfield, admitted to drinking alcohol. Police reported a portable breathalyzer test reading was 0.232 for Lajewski. She was arrested and charged with operation under the influence, second offense, marked lane violation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked.
