Jose M. Velez, 43, of 15 Fowler St., Westfield, received a one-year suspended sentence to House of Corrections along with probation, to April 21, 2017, after pleading guilty to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a person 60 or older or who is disabled, vandalizing property and assault and battery, brought by the Westfield Police.
Mike M. Makarchuk, 23, of 79 Franklin St., Westfield, was released pending an Oct. 12 hearing after being arraigned on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police and disturbing the peace, brought by the Westfield Police.
