2:20 a.m.: Motor vehicle violation arrest, Main Street. Police stopped William E. O’Niell, 51, of Agawam, after they observed him running a red light. After approaching the vehicle police suspected that O’Niell had been drinking, which prompted them to put him through field sobriety tests. He failed. Police arrested O’Niell and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor–second offense, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, red light violation and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
12:10 p.m.: Larceny, Meadow Street. Police were called to a business on Meadow Street after their cash register was robbed. Police said the amount was over $100 that was stolen. Police were given a description and found a woman matching it. Alicia Hansen, 33, of Westfield, was arrested and charged with larceny from a building, in addition to being arrested on two prior warrants.
2:12 p.m.: Larceny, Springfield Road. Police received a report of a motorcycle helmet that was stolen off a bike while the owner was inside of a store. There were no witnesses or additional information available at the time of the report.
3:48 p.m.: Larceny, Orange Street. Police received a report of a bicycle that was stolen from a home on Orange Street. There were no witnesses and no further information.
5:01 p.m.: Suspicious activity, Connor Avenue. Police received a report of a woman who was screaming at another woman’s children from a car in front of their home. Police did not report what was screamed and police did not make any arrests. Police did get license plate information and a description of the person, however.
9:08 p.m.: Disturbance, Union Street. Police were requested after a caller reported that three teenage males were climbing over a fence to a pool, then throwing items into the pool. Upon arriving, police found three youths and they saw several alcoholic beverage containers near and in the pool. Citations were issued for the alcohol. Additionally, police found Michael A. Torres, 23, of Holyoke, who had a warrant out for his arrest. Police arrested him on the warrant.
