Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016
Westfield Police saw a very low call volume on Sept. 3.
10:51 a.m.; Breaking and entering, Westfield Whip Manufacturing, Elm Street. Police received a report of a break-in at the whip museum. Police reported that someone appeared to have broken into the building through a second floor window. Police found two whips outside of the building, but no other items were reported missing, so no items were stolen. No arrests or additional information at the time of the report.
7:50 p.m.: Shoplifting, Russell Road. Police received a report of shoplifting that occurred at a convenience store on Russell Road. Police reported that the suspect was apprehended. However, no charges were filed after the shop owner merely suggested that the cost of the items be paid back by the suspect.
