Major crime and incident report

7:06 a.m., motor vehicle accident, East Main Street. Police received a report of a 2007 Honda Civic that was rear-ended by a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. No injuries, no airbags deployed and no tow was needed.
12:06 p.m., motor vehicle accident, North Elm Street. Police received a report for another rear-end accident. This time a 2012 Subaru Outback was rear-ended by a 2000 Hyundai Elantra. No injuries, no airbags deployed and no tow was needed.
5:45 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. A person walked in and reported that they had work property stolen from their truck while parked on Oak Lane. Police reported that two pieces of yard equipment were stolen, which was estimated at $900 value.
8:45 p.m., motor vehicle accident, North Road and Southampton Road. Police received a report for a minor accident involving a 2015 Toyota Tacoma and a 2004 Toyota Camry. Police reported that the Toyota Camry had left the scene of the accident and went toward Southampton. Southampton Police were able to find the person after the driver of the Tacoma was able to get the license plate information. No charges were filed according to Westfield Police.
11:04 p.m., Breaking and entering, Union Street. Police received a report of someone breaking into a home on Union Street. A resident was home and the person who broke in allegedly struck them in the face and then took off from the scene, not stealing anything. Police received a description of the suspect but no arrests were made at the time of the report.
