Westfield – Santiaga L. Matos, (1929-2016) passed away peacefully on September 16,2016 at her daughter’s house surrounded by family. She was the wife of Eustiquio T. Matos. They shared 67 years of marriage together. Born in Comerio, P.R., she was the daughter of Francisca Torres Colon & Enrique Lopez Vega.S he was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She was a devoted Catholic, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her family was her life. She had been an influential member of the Westfield community for 60 years. She is survived by her husband Eustiquio T. Matos, children Myrna Escalante Matos of Cayey, P.R., Mercedes Mejias of Westfield, Olga Gonzalez of Westfield, Paula Estrada of Westfield, Jose Matos of Westfield, Wilson Matos of Westfield, Leo Matos of Westfield, Eustiquio Matos Jr. of Westfield, Anita Matos of Minneola, Fl., William Matos of Westfield, 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren & sisters Francisca Luna, Maria Otero, & Benilda Lopez Rivera. She was predeceased by her parents Francisca Torres Colon & Enrique Lopez Vega, brothers Carlos Rodriguez & Julio Rodriguez, & a son William Matos. The funeral service will be Monday September 19, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church 30 Bartlett St with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
