Southwick – Maureen (McGiveron) Rankin, 84, (1932-2016) passed away on September 23, 2016 at home in Southwick; surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 23, 1932 in Bootle, Liverpool, England, a daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Ewers) McGiveron. Maureen met Edward Rankin while they were both working at Campbell & Isherwood in Liverpool, England. They married on November 5, 1951 after emigrating to Canada. They moved to Wichita, Kansas; then decided on Southwick, Massachusetts to start their family.
She was communicant of 0ur Lady of the Lake Church, Southwick and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her husband, Maureen is survived by her four daughters, Anne-Marie (Rankin) Storey, Rebecca Rivenburgh, Stephanie and son-in-law Michael O’Donnell, all of Southwick; Kimberly Davis and son in law Richard Ventrella, of Norwalk, CT; two sons, Dean and Mark Rankin of Southwick ; nine grandchildren, Taylor Davis and his wife Georgia, Vanessa Magagnoli and her husband James, Riley O’Donnell and his wife Judy, Spencer O’Donnell, Siobhan O’Donnell, Erica Rivenburgh, Elizabeth Rivenburgh, Katherine Rivenburgh and Alexander Rivenburgh; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Sydney Magagnoli; one brother, David McGiveron , two sisters, Gladys (Maria) Conte and Nancy (Annie) Kallevik, all of Liverpool, England. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Rose Green, Herbert McGiveron, Leonard McGiveron and Monica Woods.The family will receive friends from 4:00PM – 8:00PM on Wednesday (Sept.28th, 2016) in the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, (Highway 202/10) , Southwick. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday (Sept. 29th, 2016) from the funeral home. This will be followed by an 11:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial, offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will follow in New Cemetery, College Highway, Southwick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to “Albert and Amelia Ferst Operating Foundation, LLC” and may be sent to Amelia Park Arena and Garden, 21 South Broad St., Westfield, MA 01085
