Westfield – Helen A. (Grigalunas) O’Neil, 89, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Baystate Noble Hospital. She was born in Westfield to the late Benjamin and Anna (Jegelwicz) Grigalunas and was a 1945 graduate of Westfield High School. In her younger years she worked as a secretary for U.S. Line Company in Westfield, worked at home for Decorated Metal Products in Westfield and as a deli clerk at Western Beef in Westfield. Helen was very active and a volunteer at St. Casimir and Blessed Sacrement Church. She enjoyed walking, taking care of her home and yard,and crocheting blankets for her family and friends. Helen and Eugene loved to dance the night away. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene F. O’Neil, four sisters, Mary C’Miel, Ann Peloquin, Janette “Jay” Oleksak and Sophie Kucharski. Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen “Katy” O’Neil Shea and her husband Brian of Westfield, a sister, Frances Curran and her husband Richard of Westfield, three grandchildren, Shannon Boley, Patrick Boley and Jessica Shea, and her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who were very special to Helen. Her funeral will be held on Monday with a Mass at 10AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will precede the mass from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
