Westfield – Barbara F. Tower, 80, (1937-2016) passed peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was born in and raised in Springfield, fifth of nine children born to John and Henrietta (Decormier) Trudell. She was predeceased by a daughter Joanne Tower Fedora, her brothers, William and John Trudell, her sisters, Claira Blizniak, Anita Flynn and Lillian Cooper. She leaves her brother Donald and his wife Deanna Trudell, sisters Arlene Barber Trudell of Holyoke, Theresa Bazinet of Springfield, her son Dennis Tower, grandchildren, Melena Paradee and Sheena Chlastawa and Carissa Martinez and Amanda Ingram and great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving niece Lillian and her husband Michael, Linda Mieltowski and Joan Lamb. Nephews, Ron and his wife Sue Miller, and Alban Miller, Jr. Her great nieces Samantha, Lauren and Jessica Harnden and many other family and friends. She married young and traveled with her husband Leroy Tower, who was in the service. She lived and owned an auto shop in Southwick many years ago. After settling in Westfield, she took in fostered children for a while, worked at Suffield Academy as a custodian before working for Southwick Schools. Retiring in the early ninety’s in Westfield. She made donations to Disabled Veterans and feed the children for years. She loved country music, crocheting, crafts and angels. She will be greatly missed. A Memorial service will be held at her family’s convenience and announced at a later date.
