Middlefield, MA – On March 23, 2017, Marjorie Pease Doane Batorski passed away peacefully with family by her side. She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law Beth and Dan Harkins of Niantic CT and Sarah and Sean Foley of Middlefield, MA; two sons John Doane and Mark Doane both of Middlefield. She was predeceased by her husbands Robert Doane and Ed Batorski and her son Jeff Doane. She also leaves behind six grandsons, Jeff, Chris, Nick, Ben, Brennan, and Jonathan as well as two great grandchildren Emalyn and Gabe.
Marge dedicated her life to helping others, serving for 22 years as a paraprofessional for the Gateway Regional School District, longtime church organist for the Middlefield Church, and 25 years as the Middlefield Town Clerk. She also served in various capacities with the Middlefield Fair, Historical Commission and Council On Aging. Marge brightened the days and lives of all she encountered with her youthful excitement. Her happiness was contagious.
A service will be held for her on Wednesday, March 29th 2017 at the Middlefield Congregational Church on Skyline Trail in Middlefield. It will be followed by a reception at the Middlefield Town Hall, also on Skyline Trail. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Middlefield Congregational Church “Marge’s Door Fund” at P. O. Box 117 Middlefield, MA 01243.
