Friday July 7

12-Year-Old All-Stars

Westfield American 9, Belchertown 8

Despite Belchertown cutting the deficit to just one run in the fifth inning, Westfield American was able to hold on to a 9-8 victory.

Sean Roselli went 3-for-4 with a double and Jay Sherpa went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Scott Hepburn helped his team get out of a jam in the fifth inning. With a runner on third and the threat of Belchertown tying the game, Hepburn recorded the out to get out of the inning.

Closing out the game in the sixth, Hepburn worked around a leadoff double in order to secure the win.

Westfield National 14, Amherst 4

Three home runs helped Westfield National propel to a 14-4 win over Amherst. Nick Goodwin, Cody Collins, and Anthony Schabowski were responsible for the baseballs that went over the fence. Ryder Pieczarka chipped in offensively by going 2-for-2.

Cam Lisowski was solid on the mound as he went four innings, while giving up five hits and recording nine strikeouts.

Saturday July 8

12-Year-Old All-Stars 

Westfield American 5, Westfield National 1

Westfield American has earned their spot in the 12-Year-Old All-Star District 2 Championship game with a 5-1 victory over Wesfield National at Paper Mill Field on Saturday.

Leading the way for American was Jay Scherpa as he was lights out on the mound. Scherpa gave up just four hits while striking out 10 and giving up one run in five innings.

Up 2-1 in the fifth inning, American pulled away by adding three runs. Scherpa hit a solo homerun and his brother, Kyle Scherpa, followed up with a two-run jack.

Caden Matuszczak went 3-for-4 for American and Kyle Scherpa contributed by going 2-for-3.

Sunday July 9

9-Year-Old All-Stars

Longmeadow 23, Westfield 13 (4 inn.)

Agawam 28, Gateway 4 (3 1/2 inn.)
