Hinsdale – John Francis Conner, 71, passed away Thursday, at Berkshire Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Becket on December 16, 1946 to the late Elliot and Elise(Fuller) Conner. John was honored to serve his country in the Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. John was the owner of Conner Trucking for over 18 years. He served on the School Committee and as Moderator for the Town of Hinsdale. John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and canoeing. He spent many years breeding horses, Hound Dogs and Olde English Bulldogges. He enjoyed horse back riding and being a Teamster. John is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years Bonnie Conner (Begin) of Hinsdale, his children John Conner and his wife Marcy of Chester, Betty Haskins and her husband Bill of Pittsfield and his grandchildren, Josh Moore, Samatha Conner and Kalee Conner, his sister Susan Szenda and her husband Albert of Westfield. He was predeceased by his brother Robert H. Conner. He will be dearly missed by his nephews, nieces, cousins and to all who knew him. Family and friends are asked to gather, Saturday January 20th at 10:00am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Jennifer Kimball at 11:00am at First Congregational Church, 129 Maple Street, Hinsdale, MA 01235. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to Soldier On, 360 West Housatonic Street,Pittsfield, MA 01201.
