Special City Council meeting set to revisit water filtration bond

WESTFIELD – City Council President John J. Beltrandi, III has called a special City Council meeting for Tuesday, March 27 at 6 p.m. in City Council chambers. The public is welcome to attend.

The meeting will be all about the water project for the City of Westfield, “To get answers for questions that haven’t been asked,” Beltrandi said.

Mayor Brian P. Sullivan said he will attend with department heads to answer questions relative to the Water Filtration project, and to present the city’s timeline. “The purpose will be to allow all Councilors to ask questions and confirm plans for moving this Water Filtration project forward as planned. Law, DPW, Purchasing and my office will all be attending,” Sullivan said.

Beltrandi said the bond request will also come back in a different format, listed on the agenda is resubmission of the bond request.

“Everybody is on board, for a change, and at the end of the day, the object is to get the water straightened out,” Beltrandi said.
