SOUTHWICK – Stella Onyski, 93, (1924 – 2018) passed away on March 25, 2018 at Mount St. Vincent Care Center in Holyoke, MA. Born in New Haven, CT on November 18, 1924 to the late Adam and Anna (Srewczyk) Pawlikowski, she was a graduate of East Haven High School in East Haven, CT. She was a devout Catholic and was dedicated to Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick where she worked since 1984. Stella was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society for over 30 years. Besides her work for the church, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and bird-watching. Predeceased by her husband William J. Onyski who passed away in 1982, her son-in-law Slawek Zalog and many brothers and sisters, Stella leaves her children William Onyski and his wife Gina of Westfield, Ann Elmkies and her husband Shalom of Wallingford, CT, Jean Zalog of San Jose, CA, Carol Murphy and her husband Michael of Meriden, CT and Eve Onyski of Glastonbury, CT as well as her grandchildren David and Rachel Elmkies, Katherine, Robert, and Monica Zalog, Adam, Emily and Abigail Murphy, Gabriela, Daniel and Nicolas Arias, and Andrea, Cara and Christina Onyski. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends at Mercy Life, the Compass Unit at Armbrook Village and Mount St. Vincent Care Center for their care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, March 28, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church 224 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will be at a later date in New Cemetery.
