Russell – Madeline “Mady” (Couture) Colson, 69, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lawrence, MA to the late Hildegard and Ernest Couture. She was a graduate of Northampton High School. She lived in Russell for 43 years. She retired from the Gateway Regional School System after 25 years. Madeline loved her family, playing cards, shopping and wine tasting in the Finger Lakes region of NY State. “Mady,” a kind, loving and generous person will be missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her husband of 44 years Leonard J. Colson, two sons; Jeffrey L. Colson and his wife Jennifer of Wakefield, RI and Stephen M. Colson and his wife Jaclyn of Coventry, RI. She also leaves behind sisters Barbara Southwick of Florence, MA; Patty Josko of Vernon Hills, IL; twin brothers Jerry Couture of Port Charlotte, FL and Michael Couture of Palm Bay, FL. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Madeline will be on Friday April 13th from 4pm-7pm at Firtion Adams Funeral home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 14th at 9 am from the funeral home and 10am, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on 335 Elm Street, Westfield, MA 01085 with burial to following in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
