Maria A. VanderZeypen, 87, of Westfield, MA passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Mechelen, Belgium on February 13, 1931 to Irma and Eugene Bogaert. She is predeceased by her brother Willy. Maria married her childhood sweetheart Gustaaf in 1953 and moved from Belgium to Springfield, MA in 1954. Maria is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gustaaf M. VanderZeypen; her daughters Cindy Liljedahl and Linda Pappas and their spouses Mark Liljedahl and Paul Pappas and her grandson, David Osip along with her many four-legged grandchildren. Maria was a loving mother and wife who always put her family’s needs in front of her own. Her passions in life were gardening, cooking and baking for her family. She made the best soups and put them in butter containers in the freezer. We will miss getting those containers to bring home. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needlepoint.
