8:07 a.m.: larceny, Union Street, a caller reports a used cell phone brought to a collection point to be recycled was found to have been stolen, the responding officer reports that the phone was reported to have been stolen from the owner’s home on Aug. 24, the case remains under investigation;
11:00 a.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a person came to the station to surrender a pair of eyeglasses in a damaged case which was found on Franklin Street, the glasses were stored for safe keeping;
6:08 p.m.: arrest, Southwick Police Department, 11 Depot Court, Southwick, an officer was dispatched to take custody of a person arrested by Southwick police as a courtesy to city police, Joseph Leo Stdenis, 78, of 1155 West Springfield, was arrested for aggravated rape of a child younger than 16 years-of-age, indecent assault and battery on a child younger than 14 years-of-age and intimidating a witness;
9:23 p.m.: found property, Western Avenue, a caller reports finding a large tool box on the side of the road, the responding officer reports a large tool box apparently fell from a vehicle and scattered tools, the tools were collected and the box was transported to the station for safe keeping.
