Westfield State University to host annual Homecoming events
Westfield State University will host its annual Homecoming and Family Weekend events from Friday, October 19 through Sunday, October 21. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for lifetime owls and $15 for children (age 5-12). Events begin Friday, October 19, highlighted by the third annual Henry Wefing Memorial Golf Tournament and the Athletics Hall of Fame Awards Dinner.
The all-day event on Saturday involves games, music, theatrical events, art and delicious tailgate food. The Owls will face Framingham State on the football field at 2 p.m. and Noah Lis ’13 from The Voice will perform in Woodward Center during the “Owls Under the Big Top” event.
Event highlights: Friday, October 19: 11 a.m. – Henry Wefing Memorial Golf Tournament, Tekoa Country Club; 11:30 a.m. – Class of 1968 Golden Owl Luncheon; 6 p.m. – Athletics Hall of Fame Awards Dinner, Scanlon Banquet Hall; 7 p.m. – Westfield Choral Festival Concert, featuring guest conductor, Jeffrey Douma from Yale University, Parenzo Hall, Dever Auditorium; 10 p.m. – Comedian/magician John Cassidy, Dever Auditorium.
Saturday, October 20: 11 a.m. – State of the University Address by President Ramon S. Torrecilha, Ph.D., Peter Mazza Assembly Room, Ely Campus Center; 11 a.m. – WSU women’s soccer vs. Fitchburg State, Alumni Field; 12 – 4 p.m. – “Harvest Fest” on the Campus Green with activities, student performances, Farmers Market, Trunk or Treat, and Food Trucks; 12 – 5 p.m. “Owls Under the Big Top”- music by Noah Lis ’13 from The Voice, cash bar, trivia, alumni reunions celebrating milestone classes ending in 3 and 8 with an after-game party with potato and chili bar; 2 p.m. – WSU football vs. Framingham State – Alumni Field; 7 p.m. – WSU field hockey vs. Plymouth State – Alumni Field.
