AGAWAM HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION MEETING
The Agawam Historical Association will be hosting their member meeting on Wednesday October 24th at the Captain Leonard House at 7:00 pm. Carol Martin will be presenting the history of the Westfield Whip Factory. Carol is a member of the founding family, and the factory still makes whips to this day. The public is welcome, and encouraged to join the Association.
The Agawam Historical Association (AHA), a 501(c) (3) non- profit organization, has been part of the Agawam community for many years with the mission to preserve the Town’s history and artifacts and educate the citizens of Agawam. The Thomas Smith House, located in Feeding Hills, is the oldest existing house in Agawam (circa 1757) and was purchased by the AHA. The Fire House Museum on Elm Street, houses antique fire trucks and apparatus on the ground floor and contains artifacts, memorabilia and exhibits from Agawam and neighboring areas on the second floor.
