Paul Phillips, 45, of 3 Jefferson Street, Westfield, was held in lieu of $1,000 cash bail pending a Nov. 7 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery on a family or household member brought by Westfield Police.
Ashis Katuwal, 22, of 124 Franklin Street, Westfield was released on his personal recognizance pending a Nov. 30 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle a marked lanes violation brought by Westfield police.
William H. Mowrey, 54, of 33 West Silver St., Westfield, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of possession of a Class B drug brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. He was assessed $50 and other charges on the same docket were adjudicated separately in a jury trial. In that trial, Mowrey was found to be guilty of a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and was placed on probation for one year, assessed $250 and his license was suspended for 60 days. He was found to be responsible for charges of possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and for speeding at a rate exceeding the posted limit. He was found to be not guilty of a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, a second offense.
