Westfield – Dotti (Dorothy) Noe,born on May 31st, 1930 (88) passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 15th, 2018. Dotti loved Westfield, volunteering, and was a philanthropist of sorts. She was a lifelong, faithful servant dedicated to her Church of the Atonement, her community, veterans, and the elderly. She could often be seen driving through town in “Her Majesty”; American flag waving, delivering frozen water bottles to police officers in the summer, baking, collecting, and delivering to the Soup Kitchen, the Forum House, those in need at Noble Hospital and visiting “her Veterans” with baked goods at Leeds Hospital in Northampton. Local politics were of interest to her and she made and kept many friendships through the years by her contributions and work at the Westfield Womans’ Club, “Noe’s Nose for News” church newsletter, Warden at the polls, assisting at the American Red Cross blood drives, and breakfasts with her WHS reunion classmates. Dotti felt loved and appreciated by the Westfield community and her Church where she served as Deacon, Usher and greeter. As an avid reader, she enjoyed visiting the historic and beautiful Westfield Antheneum and encouraged others to read by recommending and donating books. Dotti brought joy, energy, enthusiasm, passion and happiness wherever she went and found ways to do what she loved, consistently through giving back. She loved the annual Strawberry Festival at Stanley Park and would whip the cream each year and encourage her friends and family to attend (and volunteer). She also loved music and ushered at the Springfield Symphony, because if she was going, she may as well donate her services. She stayed active by swimming with the Noodlers at the Westfield Boys and Girls Club, and sharp by driving “her Seniors” through the Senior Center companion program.
Dotti’s zest and contagious love for life will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
In honor of Dotti and her life, a service and celebration of her life will be held at the Church of the Atonement in Westfield Mass at 10am on January 26th, 2019 followed by a Coffee Hour.
