WESTFIELD – Erin K. Cooley, 37, of Westfield passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Pittsfield, MA to Everett and Kelly (Viock) Cooley and was a 2000 graduate of Westfield Technical Academy where she was a National Honor Society member. Erin was also a graduate of STCC with a degree in clinical lab science and received her Masters Degree in Health Studies of Physicians Assistant from Springfield College. She graduated second in her class and studied at the Coroners Office in Boston Mass. Erin was employed by Clean Slate Centers for many years. She helped countless people along the way overcome their addictions and connecting families. Erin always extended herself to those less fortunate and worked tirelessly to assist patients. She also taught as a Professor for Bay Path College. Erin held the belief, it is never too late to change your course of direction. Erin’s children meant the world to her, and she meant the world to them. She enjoyed going camping and spending family time at the beach with her children. Erin loved music and concerts, especially the Grateful Dead and Cranberries. She instilled a love of music in her children and included them in music venues and festivals.
Erin is survived by her cherished children, Savanna Jade 8yrs. and Neal Everett Cooley 4yrs of Westfield, MA. She leaves behind her parents, Everett and Kelly Cooley of Russell, her brother Adam Cooley and his wife Kelly of Westfield, and their two children Beau and Stella Cooley. She also leaves her aunts, Karen Willey and her husband Steve of NY, Diane Dunham and her husband David of Southwick, Kim Graham and companion Ron Hall of FL, Rosalyn Burt and Charles Wauczinski of Northampton, Lois Walker of Westfield, Irene and David Keller of Virginia, Carol Thornton of Monson, MA, June Richards and her husband Harley of Warren, Sylvia Monteiro and her husband Roy of Russell, MA, her friend and close cousin Danielle Dunham of Westfield and many cousins, friends and coworkers that will dearly miss Erin. The family wishes to thank the VNA Hospice of Northampton, Cooley Dickenson Hospital, Mass General of Boston, Franklin Avenue School for their kindness and support as well as All Star Dance, and Westfield Children’s museum.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at l0AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by burial in Russell Cemetery, Main St. Russell. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
