Eugene J. Whitehead

SOUTHWICK – Eugene J. Whitehead, Jr., 51 (1967-2019), passed away peacefully at his home on July 21st surrounded by family and friends, following a valiant battle against cancer. Eugene was born in Springfield, MA on November 20, 1967, a son of Eugene J. Whitehead, Sr. and Barbara (Fraichard) Whitehead. Geno was the proud owner and operator of Total Home Services Inc. in Southwick MA. When his sons, Nicholas Whitehead and Anthony Whitehead were younger, Geno was extremely involved in the sports community in town. He was previously the President of the rec center and coached many seasons of soccer and floor hockey. In more recent years, Geno stepped back to enjoy all of the work he had put in by taking trips on his Harley, sitting on the patio with his little buddy Trot, going to Boston to cheer on the Bruins and putting on 4th of July firework shows for friends and family. Geno was well known for his work ethic and love for his family and will be dearly missed. Eugene is survived by his parents, Eugene Sr. and Barbara Whitehead; his oldest son, Nicholas Whitehead (United States Navy) and his wife Carina Whitehead, of Chesapeake, VA; his youngest son, Anthony Whitehead, and his wife, Brittany Whitehead of Granville, MA; His brother, David Whitehead, and his wife, Jenny Whitehead, of Feeding Hills; his brother, James Whitehead, and his wife, Christine Whitehead, of East Longmeadow; his fiancé, Wendy Bilia and her two children Mikey and Lauren Hauser of Southwick; His great uncle and aunt, Douglas and Loraine Robinson; His uncle Douglas and aunt Alice Oliveri of Fort McCoy, FL; his former wife, Lisa (D’Angelis) Whitehead; along with many extended family and friends.

Calling hours for Eugene will take place from 2:00PM – 6:00PM, on Sunday July 28, 2019 in the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway (Highway 10 and 202) in Southwick. A Memorial Service will take place in the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Monday July 29, 2019.
