Claude T. Myers, Jr.

LONGMEADOW – Claude Thomas Myers, Jr., 62, (1957 – 2019)  passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 19th 2019 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. Born in Springfield to the late Claude T. and Rita C. (Banim) Myers, he was a 1975 graduate of Cathedral High School. Claude received his Associates Degree from Springfield Technical Community College in Landscaping and then went on to a long career as part of the grounds crew at Western New England College. Claude was an avid runner over the years, being proud to be part of the 1996 Marine Corps Marathon. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and the Cowboys and was proud of his Irish Heritage. Claude is survived by his three siblings who will miss him dearly, Christine E. Bridges and her husband Garry of Longmeadow, James P. Myers and his wife Deborah of California and Mary E. Bates and her husband Ernest, Jr. of Westfield, by his niece and nephews, Kevin, Stephanie, Anthony and Bryan and extended family and friends, including his supportive group of buddies from Cathedral High School. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Jewish Nursing Home and Spectrum Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. We know Claude will be sorely missed. Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Sunday November 24th from 2 – 4 PM at the Hafey Funeral Home, 494 Belmont Ave., Springfield with a service at 3:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
