The Rt. Rev. Douglas J. Fisher will preach and preside at Southwick Community Episcopal Church, 660 College Highway, on Sunday, January 5 at 9:30 am. Bishop Fisher visits all of the 50+ congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts once every two years. This visit occurs as the community awaits a new rector. The Rev. Taylor Albright, founding rector, is serving the Episcopal Church in Connecticut. After an interim year the people of SCEC are ready for the next chapter in their mission. The Bishop will be greeted by the Rev. Mark Hatch who is providing a bridge ministry between the interim rector and the new rector.

During the Sunday celebration the bishop will preach the sermon. Following the liturgy, the he will visit with members and congregational leaders to discuss hopes, dreams, and concerns in this year of transition. Southwick Community Episcopal Church is actively engaged in the local community. The annual turkey drive sponsored by the congregation brings Thanksgiving dinner to hundreds in the county.
