WESTFIELD

11:11 a.m.: suspicious person, Russellville Road, a caller reports that an unknown party was seen walking around the exterior of his home, the responding officer reports that the house was secure and an area search turned up negative for a suspect;

11:13 a.m.: animal complaint, Dug Road, an animal control officer reports that she is on her way to retrieve a deceased fox, the animal control officer reports that the fox is not dead but instead mangy and that she was unable to wrangle it, the animal control officer reports that this fox had been spotted in the same area in recent weeks;

12:36 p.m.: burglary, Sherman Street, a caller reports that she had returned home after a few days away to find her front door broken into and her television missing, the responding officer filed an incident report;

1:55 p.m.: motor vehicle incident, Southwick Road, a caller reports that a vehicle struck a Southwick Road bridge and that there is airbag deployment with fluids leaking from the vehicle, the responding officer reports that a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle and that the operator of the vehicle refused medical attention;

3:00 p.m.: suspicious persons, Mainline Drive, a caller reports that there is a section of her property that she suspects is being used as a camp by unknown persons, the responding officer reports that an apparent campsite was found but that nobody was there, the officer reports that they would return the next day to attempt to identify the person camping there;

6:24 p.m.: suspicious person, North Elm Street, a caller from a North Elm Street restaurant reports that a woman pulled into the drive-thru when another vehicle pulled around and parked in front of her, the caller reports that the woman in the drive-thru claimed the other car had been following her, the female party reported to dispatch that she was driving on Wyben Road when she drove past the other vehicle at a stop sign, the female party reports that the vehicle made a u-turn towards her which made her uncomfortable so she sped up to get away, the female party reports that the vehicle accelerated as well when following her so she made a quick turn without a blinker in hopes of getting away, but the other vehicle made the turn and almost hit a barrier, the female party reports that she then pulled into the restaurant drive-thru when the unknown male drive parked in front of her and began yelling, the female party reports that she left the drive-thru and was no longer being followed, officers were advised to be on the lookout for the unknown driver.

 

SOUTHWICK

7:39 a.m.: general services, Depot Street, a notice of repossession was issued;

9:25 a.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, a male reported a neighbor harassing him at his job site, the reporting party reports the nieghbor was yelling at him and “trying to bait him into a reaction” while recording the incident on his cell phone, an officer directed the man to Westfield District Court and provided an application for a harassment order;

9:30 p.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, a request to speak to an officer regarding visitation of his children was made, the reporting party was asked to step outside to wait for an officer and had left the police station when an officer went out to speak to him;

11:40 a.m.: animal complaint, Pondview Lane, a caller reports a kennel violation, the responding animal control officer reports the kennel was in compliance with bylaws;

1:27 p.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, a resident reports a verbal altercation with a neighbor, she reports one neighbor having a verbal exchange with another neighbor, the first party tried to engage her in the argument and made hand gestures toward her; an officer left a message for the neighbor;

1:37 p.m.: fire, College Highway, a grass fire was reported at Southwick Animal Hospital, responding firefighters report a small mulch fire in a planter was extinguished;

3:41 p.m.: officer wanted, Depot Street, a resident reports receiving harassing calls from a relative in another community, the responding officer advised her to block the calls and contact the police department where the relative resides.
