WESTFIELD: Lucille V. (Wirfel) Sawyer, 92, (1928-2020) passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Granby, CT. She was born to the late Edward and Katherine Wirfel in Queens, NY. She was a graduate of Richmond Hill High School and worked at Chase Manhattan Bank in NY. She also worked at Pat Reach Decorations and was a billing clerk for Doctors Long and Kingra in Westfield for many years.
Lucille is survived by her daughter Eileen (Shawn) Scully, her son Tom (Michelle) Sawyer, her daughter-in-law Debbie Sawyer, seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Joan Holloway and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert F. (2016), her son Michael F. (2017), a daughter Maureen C. (1988) and a sister Dorothy Schulten (NY). Many thanks to the staff at Meadowbrook Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
A Funeral Service for Lucille will be held on Monday at 1PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield followed by a burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd., Westfield.
