WESTFIELD: Frank M. Meyer, 73, recently passed away at home. He was born to the late Frank and Marie Meyer in Little Ferry, New Jersey. He and his parents relocated to Massachusetts in 1976. Frank was a lifelong learner, having earned a number of Certificates in the areas of law and land conservation. He was the sole caregiver for his mother for many years before her passing in 2000. Since that time, Frank has been an active member of the Westfield Senior Center.
From art to ballroom dancing, from the history group to reading and writing in the Center’s Fireside Lounge, Frank was a friend to all who lived alone but found pleasure in the company of others. He was an active member of the Do Re Mi Singers and was frequently the whistling soloist during the group’s performances. Frank shared with his Senior Center friends his love of learning as well as his creativity with the visual and performing arts. He had many interests and contributed in his own way to making the world a better place.
A memorial ceremony for Frank will be held at a later date when his Senior Center friends can safely gather together. In the meantime, they will honor Frank by carrying his happy tune in their hearts. Donations in Frank’s name can be made to the Westfield Council On Aging Revolving Gift Fund, 45 Noble Street, Westfield, MA 01085 or Sarah Gillett Services for the Elderly, Inc., P.O. Box 1871, Westfield, MA 01086.
