WESTFIELD: Bettina A. Bezo passed away peacefully at home on February 15th, 2022. She was born in Westfield on July 15, 1939 to the late Edward Kirby and Bettina (Woodsum) Friedrich. Betty attended Westfield schools and graduated from Westfield High School in 1957. She worked at Old Colony Envelope for many years in the shipping and accounts payable department. In addition to cheering on the Red Sox, reading, crossword puzzles, and Polka weekends, she enjoyed her many trips to Europe, cruising the Caribbean, and RVing throughout the United States.
Betty leaves her husband Edward Bezo of Westfield. She was the love of his life, his partner, his bride of 57 years, and forever friend. She leaves her children, daughter Judy Galczynski and her husband Christopher of Westfield, son Carl Bezo of Westfield, and daughter Lisa Bezo and her partner Henning Ohlenbusch of Northampton. Betty also leaves her brother Edward Michael Kirby and wife Jeanne of Westfield, her brother John Kirby and wife Linda of New Jersey, and her sister Katherine Kirby of Westfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother William Kirby and sister Margaret Goonan McLane.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1552 Westfield St., West Springfield, MA 01089 or the charity of your choice. The calling hours for Bettina will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 4-6PM in the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA 01085.
