Paul Frederic Faivre

WESTFIELD – Paul Frederic Faivre, 79, (1942 – 2022) passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on March 19, 2022. He was the husband of 18 years to Constance June (Corcoran) Faivre.

Paul was born on March 28, 1942, in Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut, a son of the late J. Maurice and Ellen B. (Wivagg) Faivre.

Paul’s early years were spent in Simsbury and Collinsville, Connecticut. After the end of WWII, the family built a house again in Simsbury, where Paul went to elementary school.

He continued his education at Hartford Technical School, earning his high school diploma; majoring in machine tooling. While there he worked evenings at several machine shops.

After the family moved to Westfield, Paul opened and owned his own machine shop, Faivre Machine & Tool, located in Southwick. A successful business which over the years employed several machinists.

He died just short of his 80th birthday. A full life with many experiences, lots of fishing alone and with friends, and a loving family. He especially enjoyed time spent with all his grandchildren.

Paul was an honorably discharged United States Air Force veteran; having served his country during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Priscilla Dawn Faivre, and two brothers, Allen Faivre and Jim Faivre.

Besides his wife, Paul is survived by a son, Eric P. Faivre; two daughters, Lynette M. Prentice (Gary) and Rebecca E. Leary (Daniel); three brothers, Louis Faivre of Vermont, Jon Faivre of Las Vegas, Nevada and Karl Faivre of Orleans, Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Colton Prentice, Austin Leary, Paige Kozak Lisowski, McKenna Leary, Charles Prentice, Kayla Faivre; his former wife, Ellen Mary Colson, along with nieces, nephews; extended family members.

The family would like to thank Westfield Gardens, Highland Valley Elder Services, O’Connell Home Health Care, and Holyoke VNA & Hospice Life Care, a special thank you to Kathy the nurse.

The family will greet friends from 4:00PM-7:00PM, on Thursday, March 24th, 2022, at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral and Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A funeral home service will take place at 9:30AM on Friday, March 25th, 2022. The burial will be announced at the funeral home.
