WESTFIELD – Anne H. (Misterka) Czelusniak, 98, (1924 – 2022) passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield in 1924, to the late Jozef and Helen (Kaczowka) Misterka of Indian Orchard. She was predeceased by her husband Walter “Buddy” Czelusniak in 2004. Anne and her husband “Buddy” were co-owners of Southampton Country Club for 23 years, before leaving and becoming the owners of Agawam Country Club for 11 years. Anne’s devotion to the Roman Catholic Church and her faith played a large role in how she lived her life. She belonged to the Rosary Society at Holy Trinity Church and the Polish Womens’ Alliance. Anne loved to travel and among the highlights were trips to the Holy Land, Medugorje, Rome, and Poland.
Anne cherished her family, her children, Christine Smith of Mendon, Barbara Kajos and her husband George of Westborough and James Czelusniak of Westfield. Anne was a loving grandmother to Nicole Bryant and her husband Shawn of Marlborough, Amanda Spindola and her husband Michael of Mendon, Jacqueline Kajos Kingsby and wife Shadanta of San Leandro, CA and William Kajos of New York City. Anne’s great-grandchildren, Jerel Bryant, Elyse Spindola, Sebastian Bryant; Charlotte Spindola and Quincy Kajos Kingsby adored their great-grandmother and fondly called her “Gra-nana.”
Anne was predeceased by her brother Stanley Misterka in 2014.
The Czelusniak family extends its deepest gratitude to Adele Paulin of Wilbraham for her bountiful compassion and devoted caregiving to Anne and to Roland Degree of Chicopee for his generous and selfless commitment to Anne’s care and comfort. Anne’s life was enriched by her long-time friends who lived locally, fellow worshipers at the Holy Trinity Church and by the caring staff and friends at Armbrook Village in Westfield.
A Funeral Mass for Anne will be celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10AM in Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield, MA 01085 followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 203 Southampton Rd., Westfield, MA.
