WESTFIELD – Mildred F. (Borgers) Lamb, 98, died Monday, January 30, 2023, in Baystate Noble Hospital. She was born on March 14, 1924 in Jersey City, N.J. to the late Louis and Mary (Mann) Borgers. She attended schools in Jersey City and was a graduate of Dickinson High School in 1942. She met her husband Hugh at a U.S.O. dance and were married in 1947. She worked at Chase Manhattan Bank in NY before moving to Westfield where she and her husband made their home, having five children. She worked in the cafeteria for the Westfield Public Schools for many years. Mildred was a parishioner of St. Peter and St. Casmir Parish and was a member of the Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her husband Hugh “Huck” Lamb in 2005, her granddaughter Sarah Haley in 2003 and grandsons Brian and Kevin Lamb in 1978.
She leaves her children Karen Balchunas of Westfield, Thomas Lamb of Crystal River, FL, Janet Haley of Westfield, Diane Perrott of Westfield and Cheryl Manning of Agawam. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Noble Hospital, Genesis Health Care and her caregiver Liz for the great care that was given to her.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 5th, from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A service will follow at 1:30 PM.
