WESTFIELD – Carol A. (Kossick) Letourneau, 84, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. Carol was born in Springfield to the late Alphonse and Elizabeth (Morrissey) Kossick. Carol graduated from Agawam High School in 1956 and received a Bachelor’s of Science from Westfield State University in 1960 and, later, a Master’s of Art. She was an English teacher in the West Springfield Public Schools for 10 years and then was a Guidance Counselor for 20 years and retired in 2000. Carol was a member of the West Springfield Parent Teachers Organization, Western Mass Guidance Association, West Springfield Ramapogwe Historical Society, St. Vincent de Paul, National Education Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association, and the St. Mary’s Sodality.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, Francis E. Letourneau, in 2004.
She leaves her two children, Julie Sillesky and husband John of Vero Beach, FL, and Donna Hutchins of Murphy, NC. Carol leaves her grandchildren Keith Darling, Christine Whitney, Arthur J. Hutchins, Robert Hutchins. She also leaves her sister Denise Theriot of Chicopee.
The funeral mass for Carol will be on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St., Westfield. Her burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield. www.firtionadams.com
